TMD Staffing is looking to hire a Generator Tech Class B - (ED)!

Job Description:

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for generators and engines? TMD Staffing has partnered with one of our clients to find a Generator Tech Class B to join their team in Houston, TX. In this role, you'll apply your mechanical and electrical skills to perform essential PM maintenance and minor repairs on standby generators. Get ready to dive into the world of wiring schematics and load bank testing as you become an integral part of the WPI team.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

- Perform maintenance and repairs on generators and associated controls.

- Keep accurate service reports on a daily basis.

- Continuously expand your knowledge of generators and controls serviced by WPI.

- Attend service schools and training programs offered by WPI.

- Conduct weekly truck inspections as required.

- Complete necessary JSA forms for each job.

- Assist with other duties as assigned by your manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Minimum of 1 year's previous experience.

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Strong ability to work collaboratively and learn from others.

- Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.

- Willingness to learn to read simple wiring schematics and perform basic troubleshooting and repairs.

- Must provide your own tools.

- Trade school or prior generator background preferred.

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI requirements.

- Ability to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirements as outlined by WPI.

- Capability to complete PM maintenance on standby generators.

- Proficiency in a Windows-based environment (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, and twist several times daily.

- Flexibility to work varied hours and days.

- Dependable and able to work independently.

- Maintain a professional appearance.

- Foster good client relations.

- Promote and maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment.

- Keep the service truck, tools, and equipment in good working order.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

- Typical hours of work: Monday - Friday; 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.

- Overtime and weekend hours as necessary.

- Outdoor work.

- Availability for after-hour callouts.

- Will be added to the after-hour on-call list.
