Position Summary:
The inventory control specialist has the primary responsibility of increasing and maintaining company profitability through the reduction of process by products and maintaining accurate inventory levels. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory by ensuring successful processes are in place to track inventory flow. The candidate also ensures that optimal inventory is present and ready for use.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and maintain a program to reduce the amount of process byproducts through close collaboration with the technical department and production
- Maintains inventory records and audits inventory/inventory flow to ensure compliance with processes
- Weigh, measure, and check materials, supplies, and equipment for the purpose of keeping relevant records. Duties are primarily clerical by nature. Includes workers who collect and keep record of samples of products or materials.
- Examine products or materials, parts, subassemblies, and packaging for damage, defects, or shortages, using specification sheets, gauges, and standards charts.
- Compare product labels, tags, or tickets, shipping manifests, purchase orders, and bills of lading to verify accuracy of shipment contents, quality specifications, or weights.
- Remove from stock products or loads not meeting quality standards, and notify supervisors or appropriate departments of discrepancies or shortages.
- Check daily production outputs to ensure accuracy of material produced and pulled
- Closes production work orders accurately and efficiently
- Ensure all materials are available for planned and scheduled production
- Work with procurement to ensure inventory and achieve a 45 day turn cycle average
- Conduct cycle count inventory processes to ensure accuracy
- Help to develop and maintain an effective label control program
- Maintains control of inventory records for all customer product labels
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma/ GED Required
- Bachelor s degree in material management, logistics, supply chain or related field and/or 3+ years of experience in manufacturing inventory management preferred
- Excellent Math and Accounting skills
- Exceptional Organizational and Time-Management skills
- Strong Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)
- Ability to perform excellently under pressure
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to comprehend written materials easily
- Ability to relate across departments and with all members of staff
- Ability to learn and work within deacom MRP computer system
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, including filled pails or cases and mechanical handling of filled drums
- Must be capable of working overtime with little notice, as needed
PAY RATE
Depends on experience
SCHEDULE
Monday Saturday
Monday - Friday: 7 am - 5 pm
Saturday: 7am - 12 pm
