POSITION TITLE:  Business Development Representative

CLASSIFICATION:  Exempt Salaried  

SUPERVISOR:  Branch Manager  


GENERAL PURPOSE   

The Business Development Representative s objective and function is to perform all sales and service functions for targeted markets by making outside cold calls, proposal calls, service calls and unexpected visits to build business relationships and become a supplier of temporary associates to qualified prospects.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Perform outside service calls such as customer visits, collections, and safety meetings.
  • Prepare and present proposals, quotes including bill rates and recommend candidates.
  • Expectations: 
    • Make a minimum of seventy-five (75) outside sales calls (B2B) per week. o Make a minimum of five (5) face-to-face scheduled appointments per week, does not include walk in appointments. 
    • Bring in a minimum of three (3) new clients per month. 
    • Maintain a minimum of $15,000 in new business gross profit dollars per quarter. 
    • Maintain Top 20 customer list and follow up with customers weekly
  • Submit the Staffing Services Agreement and required paperwork for review and submittal once a new account has been established to the Director of Business Operations.
  • Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI) put in place by Corporate.
  • Attend weekly sales pipeline meetings with management.
  • Create and maintain customer files.
  • Utilize current online tools to research perspective customers.
  • Meet annual goals set forth by TMD management.
  • Must be able to maintain a neat, professional appearance and possess excellent oral and written communications.
  • Provides advisory support and assistance to the department supervisor as needed.
  • Attend sales seminars, sales meetings, or educational activities to stay up to date on the latest developments, trends, regulations in the marketplace.
  • Prepare electronic correspondence, reports, and other forms of written communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience:  

High School Diploma or GED together with at least 6 months of successful sales experience.   Experience in the Staffing Industry is preferable.  Outside sales experience, strong commission driven inside sales experience or heavy customer service such as hospitality experience may also be considered.   Experience in an industry that requires a sense of urgency and the ability to meet specific customer criteria is also a

must.  Light computer experience required, as well as the ability to prepare rate quotes, proposals, and follow-up letters under minimal supervision.  Experience with maintaining sales quotas and heavy phone contact is also required.  

Tools and Equipment Used

Telephone, personal computer including word processing software, database software, copy machine, fax machine, and scanner.

The employee must possess a valid driver s license and company required car insurance coverage, as well as reliable transportation to drive between client sites and office as required throughout their employment with TMD.
