Job Description

Position:  CNC Machinist

Location: Cedar Park, TX.

Shift: 2nd - 4 10's with overtime

Pay: $22-27 PH (DOE)


JOB ROLE: Our client located in Cedar Park Texas facility is looking for a Machinist to use expert knowledge to operate and control computer numerically controlled (CNC) Machines and willing to work our weekday, Night shift schedule.

The CNC Machinist to safely and efficiently set up and operate a CNC Mill or CNC Lathe. This is a Night shift work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under the direction of a supervisor and/or lead, responsible for quality parts produced on CNC machines in a safe, and efficient manner.
- Perform set-up including locating tools and fixtures, defining tools, touching off tools, setting jaws, vices or fixturing.
- Load parts utilizing overhead lifting equipment.
- Operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, and jogging machine.
- Ability to read blueprints, precision measuring instruments and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerance and tooling requirements is preferred.
- Maintain tolerancing through entire run, while performing periodic inspection to be documented on Inspection Sheets.
- Ability to trouble shoot issues during run to return the machine to good operation.
- Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
- Properly deburr and break edges of parts to print.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

FACILITY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to identify and correctly utilize tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and inserts is preferred.
- Ability to write simple programs at the controls is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instrument including profilometers, dial indicators, depth gages, OD/ID micrometers, and groove micrometers is preferred.
- Hold tight tolerances, often +/-0.0005 and finishes.
- Works to a dispatch report and ensure that jobs are run in proper sequence.
- Produces good quality product that fully meets specifications.
- Maintains area and equipment.
- Meets safety, quality, delivery, and productivity measures.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Advanced knowledge of math, blueprint comprehension and routers, preferred.
- Moderate knowledge of GD&T
- Knowledge of the proper use of metrology equipment, tools/gauges and cutting tools is preferred.
- 1+ years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Can demonstrates good work ethic.
- Ability to work well with the team.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment screening.
