Job Title: Labor Crew Boss
Start Date: January 23, 2025
Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a team of general laborers to execute tasks assigned by Cirque’s Site Director, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality.
- Perform physical labor, including event setup and teardown, with a focus on safety and care.
- Assign and monitor tasks such as lifting, carrying, and installing the following: metal bleachers, chair structures, canvas tent pieces, floor panels, distro boxes, ramps, handrails, guardrails, fence panels, HVAC ducts, etc.
- Ensure proper techniques are used when handling heavy materials, including team lifting for items over 50 lbs.
- Ensure proper loading and unloading of trucks, including adhering to safe handling and strapping standards.
- Supervise pulling and rolling of canvas and unrolling feeder cables with care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the worksite.
The ideal candidate will:
- MUST have your own PPE including a hard hat, steel toe boots, a high visibility vest, and gloves if needed.
- Have previous experience leading or supervising labor crews in construction, event setup, or similar environments.
- Possess skills in plumbing, tent assembly, erecting grandstands, and building temporary shelters. Construction experience is a strong asset.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safe loading practices, truck regulations, and proper strapping standards.
- Be physically fit, capable of working shifts (day/night), and comfortable working on ladders up to 6 ft.
- Demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills to lead a group toward achieving common goals.
- Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and foster a positive work environment.
Schedule:
- Working Hours: Hours will vary. Must be available for the Day or Night shift.
- Working Days: Maximum of 5 days a week (Subject to change according to the show schedule)
