TMD Staffing is looking to hire a Machinist II in the Humble, TX (77396) area! 

This is a DIRECT-HIRE opportunity! You will operate assigned machines and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Reads work orders, blueprints and other work instructions to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set-up, material and operating requirements.
• Gathers tooling required and ensures that tools are sharpened prior to set-up. Set up machines using prescribed set-up detail and operating procedures. Ensures that measuring devices are calibrated prior to beginning production.
• Observes machine operations to recognize problems. Uses measuring devices to verify that manufacturing tolerances and quality standards are met. Reports dimensions that are out of tolerance and adjust machine, edit program and/or re-work if possible.
• Perform additional operations on product such as cleaning, deburring, sanding, polishing, drying heating, etc. as required.
• Enters production and labor information into system(s) and/or prepares necessary documentation including SPC (Statistical Process Control) charts as needed.
• Places product in appropriate container and moves to next work or inventory area.
• Cleans equipment and tooling. Learns to maintain and sharpen tooling if required. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, reports any operational problems with machines or tooling to supervisor.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work area during and at end of shift.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two to four years experience with similar machines.
• Must have clear understanding of basic math and have the ability to read, write and comprehend English (work orders, safety and operations instructions)

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND DEMANDS

• Exposure to manufacturing environment preferred.
• Spends 1005 of time in the shop, standing 90% of the time. 
• May be exposed to possible shop hazards including heavy machinery, fumes, dust, heat, high pressure, and temperatures. 

PAY RATE

$24.24 per hour

Monday-Sunday (7 Days)
