Job Title: Machinist IV - Night Shift
TMD Staffing is looking to hire a Machinist IV to work the Night Shift!
The second Shift Machinist will be tasked to safely and efficiently set up and operate a CNC Mill or CNC Lathe. Machines include Okuma CNC Lathes, Mazak CNC Lathes, Mazak Mills, HAAS Mills, and Mazak Integrex 5-axis machining centers. Temporary Work.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: In-Person
- RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of a supervisor and/or experienced machinist, responsible for quality parts produced on CNC machines such as, but not limited, to lathes and milling machines in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
Perform set-up including locating tools and fixtures, defining tools, touching off tools, setting jaws, vices or fixturing. Obtain a first article inspection on production runs utilizing CNC Machines.
Write simple programs at the controls
Write programs to create fixturing if required

Identify problems before production runs, then start and observe machine operation to detect any other malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
Load parts utilizing overhead lifting equipment, proving tapes, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring, and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
Read blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerance, and tooling requirements.
Maintain tolerancing through the entire run, while performing a periodic inspection to be documented on Inspection Sheets.
Ability to troubleshoot issues during a run to return the machine to good operation.
Maintain knowledge of dimensions and tolerances for tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and cutting tools to be used.
Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
Comply with all Company and HSE policies and procedures.
- TOP SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability to set up and run CNC Lathe Machine
Knowledge of proper use of measuring tolls with tolerances of +-.0005 - Ability to read G Code Programs
Okuma experience is a plus, not a hard requirement
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED.
Over 5 years of relevant experience, is required.
Advanced knowledge of math, blueprint comprehension, and routers, is required.
Moderate knowledge of GD&T
Knowledge of the proper use of metrology equipment, tools/gauges, and cutting tools, is required.
Can demonstrate good work ethic
Ability to work well with the team
PAY RATE: $25.00+ per hour (Depending on Experience)
SCHEDULE:
Monday-Thursday, 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM
They are currently working on overtime from 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM, Monday-Friday
