Job Title: Welder
TMD Staffing is actively recruiting a Production Welder for an indoor-facility in Cedar Park, Texas!
The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties pertaining to the position, rework, fit, and weld according to written and typed instructions, blueprints, manufacturers specifications, and knowledge of characteristics of metal and select equipment and plan layout, fabrication, assembly, and welding. This is an indoor position with facility heating and air conditioning available. Day Shift hours.
TOP SKILLS NEEDED:
5+ Years of TIG Welding experience on sheet metal
Experience writing programs on robot welding machines using Fanuc Controls
Must be Team-Focused
Focused on job completion
Must be dependable and reliable
1+ Year of Robot Welder Machine Programming experience required (Very Important Skill!)
Lay out, position, align and fit components together using applicable machines, tools, and equipment.
Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for final welding.
Set up and weld parts using welding equipment.
Maintain sufficient knowledge of geometry, arithmetic, structural design, heat effects, and allowances for the thickness of metal to project the location of holes, cuts, and bends from blueprints, written and typed instructions, and manufacturer's specifications.
Use hand tools and be able to correctly set up and operate applicable shop machines.
Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding, cutting, and brazing on various ferrous and nonferrous metals, in accordance with established methods and procedures.
Maintain production documentation per required procedure.
Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
Comply with all company and HSE policies and procedures
Performs intermediate and precision welding techniques.
Designs, fabricates, joins and/or repairs space-age metals, and scientific and research components using oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, and TIG welding techniques.
Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, positioners, and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools. May also perform minor operations on metal lathes and milling machines.
Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements, sequence of welding assignments, and personnel needs.
EDUCATION AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or GED
Completion of an accredited two-year welder's training program and 4 years of welding experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved equating to 6 or more years total.
4 years of experience welding using TIG and MIG on thin material, is required.
4 years of experience using spot welding machines, is required.
Able to set up and run ARC stud, and spot welding required.
Skilled in the fabrication, joining, and repair of a variety of metal objects, equipment, fixtures, and structures.
Set up and use of Laser Welder in a production environment preferred
Knowledge of applicable codes.
Knowledge of welding techniques (oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, TIG, and MIG-controlled atmosphere, tools, and equipment.
Knowledge of non-destructive inspection techniques.
Program, set up, and run weld jobs on robot welding machines utilizing FANUC controls.
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
Work involves frequent lifting of materials and products up to 40 pounds.
Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment including but not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hard hats.
Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
Standing 65% of the time
Some Overtime needed
Works under immediate supervision
Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Overtime is expected, typically Fridays Only. (Voluntary OT is normally uncapped)
