TMD Staffing is looking to hire a Salvage Mechanic in the NW Houston area! (77041)

This is a Temp-to-Hire Opportunity!

WORK ENVIRONMENT: In-Person

RESPONSIBILITIES 

In this role, you will be responsible for repairs of insurance salvage vehicles. Most of the vehicles are new models, 2021-2023s.

Typical Salvage vehicles you will work on include: 

• Insurance Theft Recovery Inventory
  • Car wires may be cut and need replacing
  • Dealership activation and other electronic tinkering may be necessary.
• Insurance Total Losses Salvage (Flooding)
  • May need deep drying/cleaning
  • May need electronic repair/restoration
• Insurance Total Losses Salvage (Accidents)
  • No body work is necessary, but you will be responsible for getting the vehicle in running condition.

OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE

• Identifies mechanical problems visually and/or with computer diagnostic equipment.
• Performs tests on specific parts and systems to determine whether they are operating properly.
• Examines critical parts and systems using standard checklists.
• Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as wire harness, modules, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
• Conducts post-repair testing and diagnostics.
• Follow and promote our high standards of safety, cleanliness and organization

QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluent in English & Spanish
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical repair.
• 2 years of Salvage experience or ASE certification
• General working knowledge of vehicles. 
• Forklift certification is a plus.
• Mechanic MUST HAVE their own basic tools.

PAY RATE

$28.00 - $36.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
