SMT Manufacturing Associate

Shift: 1st Shift
Pay: $16.00–$17.00 per hour
TMD Staffing is hiring SMT Manufacturing Associates for a leading electronics manufacturer in the Rio Grande Valley. We're looking for candidates with experience in SMT machine operation, electronic assembly, soldering/rework, and quality inspection. Responsibilities
- Operate Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production equipment.
- Perform electronic rework, touch-up, soldering, and component repairs.
- Inspect and verify electronic assemblies using microscopes, magnifiers, and quality standards.
- Read bills of materials, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
- Identify and report product defects while maintaining quality documentation.
- Load programs, feeders, and materials for SMT production equipment.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and support production efficiency.
- Follow ISO quality standards, ESD procedures, and company safety policies.
- Assist production and quality teams as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- SMT equipment operation
- Electronic assembly
- Soldering, rework, or touch-up
- Electronic inspection or quality verification
- Ability to read technical documents and assembly drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Experience with soldering equipment, microscopes, measuring devices, or SMT machinery is a plus.
- IPC certification is a plus but not required.
